REVIEW

THE QUICK AND DIRTY

This is a delicious film that unravels slowly like a ball of thread. It has good atmosphere, and interesting story telling, but it doesn't have a lot of octane.

PREMISE:4

I love the idea of this film. It's fun and creepy, and just bizarre enough to keep you on the edge of your seat. But then, I'm always a fan of the "there's something slightly wrong with it," trope in horror movies.

.

ACTING:4

The acting in this film manages to walk the fine line between cinematic and believable with a deftness that leaves the distinct aftertaste of both. There's a sort of comfort about the acting reminisce of the old, black and white horror actors, but with a finesse that actually aids the suspension of disbelief. It permits one to engage the characters without being put off by them.

AUDIO AND VISUALS:4

There's some really cool scenes in this one, and the effects in regards to the body are masterfully executed. it's well shot, and it doesn't try to do more than its capable with. The colors are well chosen, and do a great job of conveying the clinical-yet basement comfort of the autopsy room.

ATMOSPHERE:3

The increasing yet perpetual dread in this film is absolutely delicious, As thing after thing goes wrong, the tension of the movie winds with it. However, it does rely heavily on you being invested from the beginning, and if you aren't, there's very little to real you back in. It's the kind of film that, if it isn't your thing, then it isn't your thing, and you will be bored.

DELIVERY:4

I was a an of this movie, but I definitely think that knowing what comes next diminishes almost all of the re-watch value. It isn't the kind of mystery where, if you go back you'll catch snippets and clues that you missed the first time. And honestly, there isn't anything wrong with that. What you see is what you get, and that alone was a fun watch.
